New Editorial Team Named At The Star Democrat

EASTON, Md. (AP) -- Chesapeake Publishing has announced several promotions to top editorial positions at The Star Democrat.

Denise Riley, who has served as The Star Democrat's executive editor, has been named as the daily newspaper's editor emeritus. David Fike, regional vice president and publisher for ACM Chesapeake LLC, says Riley will be writing editorials and doing some copy editing.

Barbara Sauers has been promoted to executive editor of The Star Democrat and all Mid-Shore publications. She has worked for the newspaper for almost 23 years and has served in the positions of news editor, managing editor and regional managing editor.

Meanwhile, John Griep has been named managing editor of the newspaper and its Mid-Shore publications. Griep has worked for The Star Democrat for 17 years and has served in many leadership roles.
