Md. Man Sentenced For Accepting Marijuana In Mail
CAMBRIDGE, Md. (AP) -- A Cambridge man has been sentenced to six months in jail after prosecutors say he accepted a package in the mail that contained nearly five pounds of marijuana.
Lamont Jones, 40, had entered an Alford plea to possession of marijuana with intent to distribute in April.
The Star Democrat of Easton reports that according to court documents, a package addressed to Joe Brown at Jones' address was found by the Postal Service to contain marijuana. Authorities delivered the package on Aug.4, 2010, and Jones allegedly identified himself as Brown.
