Baltimore Girl, 15, Pleads Guilty To Murder
BALTIMORE (AP) -- A 15-year-old Baltimore girl has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and assault in the shooting of two men who laughed at her during a robbery attempt.
Arteesha Holt also pleaded guilty Tuesday to weapons and robbery charges in Baltimore Circuit Court. Holt was 14 when she walked up to Jose Gonzalez-Coreas and Wilmer Bonilla as they talked on a rowhouse stoop. The men laughed at such a young girl brandishing a gun and she shot them. Gonzalez-Coreas was hit in the head and died a week later. Bonilla suffered a graze wound.
Holt faces 15 to 50 years in prison at sentencing in September.
Holt's 19-year-old brother, Shawn Palmer, pleaded guilty Tuesday to being an accessory after the fact and received a suspended five-year sentence.
