5 Hurt In 2 South River Boating Accidents

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- Maryland Natural Resources police are investigating two South River boating accidents that injured five people over the weekend.

Three people were taken to Shock Trauma in Baltimore after a sailboat and powerboat crashed early Sunday morning in the South River near Harness Creek.

On Saturday afternoon, the occupants of an overturned vessel in the South River near Annapolis were picked up and taken to the Thomas Point Lighthouse U.S. Coast Guard Station. Two people were taken to Shock Trauma.

Sgt. Brian Albert says police are still investigating the causes of both accidents and there are no updates on the victims' conditions.

Searchers found a Glen Burnie man's body Sunday, a day after he jumped from a moving boat into Stony Creek off Riviera Beach.
