The woman is recovering from her injuries and Maryland State Police are looking for the man who attacked her.

Maryland State Police say it happened Friday, July 29, on northbound I-83 near exit 33 in Parkton.  A woman was driving about 10 p.m. and was rear-ended by another vehicle.

"They pull over to the side of the road," said Elena Russo, Maryland State Police.  "Both got out of the car like anybody would do...the man...started pleading with her not to get the police involved."

Police say the woman because suspicious and started to call police on her mobile phone.

Police say the man knocked the phone out of her hands, but not before she called 911.

"The police were able to get to that phone, find the owner of that phone and connect with the woman who had apparently been assaulted by the side of the road," Russo said.

Police say after multiple beatings, the suspect eventually let the woman go, as she promised not to tell.

The suspect is described as a while male in his mid-20s.  He was about 5'5" to 5'9" and has a tan complexion.  He has a thin, muscular build with dark hair and dark eyes.  He has a buzz cut.

"You shouldn't have to pay the penalty she paid.  I'm terribly sorry to hear anything like that," said Haskell Feldman, Lutherville resident.

The suspect's car was a dark Jeep Wrangler with a soft top.  It has Pennsylvania tags and front-end damage.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to call Maryland State Police.
