BLOG: Monday Ravens Practice Notes

Jimmy Smith was working on Special Teams drills. This is a good sign that his groin injury is getting better. He is still out there getting reps even though he isn't quite ready to go at it for a full practice. I also noticed that Dominique Foxworth, Ed Dickson and Cory Redding were not practicing…

Torrey Smith made a great catch in the end zone, flashing that second round talent. But then you see some easy drops. You need to keep things in perspective though, he is only a rookie and these growing pains are to be expected...

Jah Reid will need some more work on his punch in pass protection. He was letting the defender get into his body too much. Still, I really like his size and potential…

A guy that impressed me was Sergio Kindle, who showed flashes of why he was considered to have first-round talent coming out of Texas. He beat Oniel Cousins twice with a nice speed rush. He showed good bend around the corner and a burst to the QB. That is the pass rush the Ravens need and if he can keep progressing it will be a big boost to the team…

These guys have a couple weeks of practice under their belts, now it will be interesting to see who shows up when the lights come on Thursday against the, "Dream Team."
