Kids Camp Trains Ravens Cheerleaders In The Making

BALTIMORE (WJZ)--As the Ravens get ready for their first preseason game they'll have some young fans cheering them on.

Andrea Fujii takes us inside the Ravens cheerleading kids camp.

At the first ever weeklong Ravens cheerleading camp, more than 100, 6-14 year olds are learning from the Ravens cheerleaders themselves.

"They're so good and they teach us so much," said Jordan S., 12 years old.

"I remember being in their shoes once before, and that's where I got to where I am today," said Dana W., Ravens cheerleader.

Whether novice or advanced, these youngsters are perfecting their skills right on the Ravens field.

"I love the Ravens and so does my pop," said Justice A., 6 years old.

"I learned how to do stunts and different kind of dances," said Jane D., 8 years old.

It's a place where girls and boys learn to cheer with the best.

"I get lots of attention for being the only boy," said Costin R., 14 years old.

And many of these young cheerleaders will be performing during the Ravens-Redskins preseason game.

"There's going to be so many people watching me, and I know my parents are going to be proud," said Jane D., 8 years old.

Besides spending five days doing what they love, many now say they know what they want to be  when they grow up.

"I've learned and I know everything about cheerleading now and it's really, really fun," said Justice A., 6 years old.

The camp ranges in price from $200 to $300.
