BLOG: The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly

So the Ravens lost their first preseason game... Lets look at the good, the bad, and the ugly.

The Good- I thought Dennis Pitta played a really nice game. He had a few nice receptions and that first one was out of this world.  I thought Jalen Parmele ran the ball well and it always seemed like he was diving forward for extra yards.  Defensively, I really liked the play of Paul Kruger.  He was everywhere and had that awesome sack on Vince Young.  Arthur Jones, Sergio Kindle and Pernell McPhee are the other names that deserve credit on defense.

The Bad- Chris Carr and Lardarius Webb got turned around a few times.  Riley cooper and Chad hall made both of those guys look really bad.  That is the Eagles fourth and fifth receivers on the depth chart.  A lot of people were happy with Bernard Pollard( I thought he had a few nice hits), but tackling guys hard after they pick up a dozen yards doesn't constitute good safety play.  I think he is great at stopping the run but not so good in pass protection.  Lastly for the bad, some of the youngsters didn't play as well as i had hoped.  I'm not going to be too tough on them because its their first game, but that being said Torrey Smith ran a few bad routes and Jah Reid didn't look like a starting right tackle.

The Ugly- Tell me this isn't the easiest call of the night.  Oneil Cousins needs to start picking his pay check up with a ski mask on.  He was atrocious!!!  He was beat like a drum against second, third and fourth team defensive players.  He was getting beat by players that wont even make the Eagles roster.  In my mind, he looked totally lost, and for a guy that's battling for a starters spot, that was totally unacceptable.
