Md. Mission Center Says It's Broke, Needs Cash
PORT DEPOSIT, Md. (AP) -- A Maryland mission center that gives food, clothing and shelter to the needy says it's broke.
Frank Rinaldi, director of the Ray of Hope Mission Center near Port Deposit, tells the Cecil Whig that he's been turning 100 families away each week because the center can't help them.
The center, which aids nearly 300 families each month and has been open since 1997, receives donations from member churches and the community. Rinaldi says the center needs cash donations, but has an ample food supply because of the Maryland Food Bank.
The center's assistant director says the center will scale back its services.
