Security Clearance Center Opens At Fort Meade
FORT MEADE, Md. (AP) -- A center for processing security clearances for Defense Department personnel and contractors is opening at Fort Meade.
Maryland Sen. Benjamin Cardin and Rep. John Sarbanes are scheduled to attend a ribbon-cutting ceremony Wednesday at the Fort Meade Pavilion.
The Defense Adjudication Activities facility is a 151,000-square-foot building that has been built as part of military base realignment and closure.
The building will be home to about 760 personnel from 10 Defense Department agencies.
