First Case Of West Nile Reported In Maryland

BALTIMORE (WJZ) --  The Maryland Health Department is reporting a Baltimore adult is testing positive for the West Nile virus.

The West Nile virus is transmitted through birds bitten by infected mosquitoes.

Symptoms can include fever, headache and a skin rash.

You can protect yourself from infected mosquitoes by avoiding outdoor activities at dusk and dawn and by using bug repellant.
