BLOG: Positive Acquisitions

This past Baltimore Orioles offseason, we made a big deal about the team bringing in Derek Lee and Vladimir Guerrero and what they would mean to the middle of this teams lineup.  How they would help vault this team back to respectability.  Well, they have both been relative zeros and Lee isn't even here anymore.

Two offseason moves have worked out though.  Mark Reynolds and JJ Hardy.  Reynolds hit his 31st home run of the year last night in a loss to the New York Yankees.  His defense has been suspect but you cant complain about what he's given the team at the plate.  Hardy on the other hand, has been the teams best player.  Acquired with not much fanfare, he has given the team steady defense and power at the plate.  He's also solidified the lead off spot in the lineup.  If only some other things would've worked out...
