Prince George's County Police Locate Parents Of Boy Found Wandering

LANDOVER, Md. (AP) -- Prince George's County police say they've found the parents of a young boy who was found wandering around a neighborhood in the Landover area.

The Washington Post reports that the child, believed to be 4 or 5 years old, was found Sunday afternoon.

Police say they didn't find any relatives after an extensive initial search of the area, and the boy was turned over to Child Protective Services.

Cpl. Henry Tippett, a police spokesman, says he doesn't have details about how, when or where the parents were discovered. He says the child will remain in protective custody until the investigation is concluded.
