WASHINGTON (AP) — District of Columbia Police say they are investigating a fatal stabbing that occurred on Pennsylvania Avenue just five blocks from the White House.

Police were called to the 1100-block of Pennsylvania Avenue in northwest Washington on Aug. 8 and found a woman suffering from stab wounds. The victim is identified as Barbara Lloyd, 56, of Baltimore. She was found outside the Old Post Office Pavilion.

Police announced details of the stabbing and investigation late Tuesday afternoon. No other details were released.

Police are asking for any witnesses to call with information and are offering a $25,000 reward.

    This incident occurred on Monday, August 8th, over four weeks ago, not this past Monday. The news is that the victim was finally identified. Great reporting.
