WTC Steel Beam To Be Placed At Hagerstown Park

HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) -- A steel beam that had been part of the World Trade Center in New York will be placed at a Hagerstown city park this month.

The beam will be dedicated on Sept. 13 at the Emergency Services Tribute Garden of Hagerstown City Park during a Sept. 11 tribute ceremony.

Members of the Washington County Citizens Corps committee began working two years ago to obtain an artifact from the ground zero site. In May, a 727-pound piece of a beam was brought to Hagerstown by county emergency services officials.
