Baltimore Drug Probe Leads To More Than 50 Arrests

BALTIMORE (AP) -- More than 50 people have been arrested on federal and state drug trafficking charges after a lengthy
investigation, but authorities are still looking for three more suspects.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms led more than 300 law enforcement officers who executed dozens of warrants in the Baltimore area on Wednesday in an operation dubbed "Brooklyn to the Bay," a reference to the area along the city's border with Anne Arundel County.

In three federal indictments, 15 Baltimore men are charged with distributing cocaine and crack cocaine and other offenses. Several also face heroin distribution charges. Eight men were arrested Wednesday, four were already in state custody and authorities are still looking for three more.

Another 28 people are facing drug trafficking charges in state court.
