BLOG: Maryland Will Be Shorthanded At WR Against WVU

The Maryland Terrapins host 18th-ranked West Virginia on Saturday and they will try to achieve victory without two of their top receivers.

The school announced that senior WR's Ronnie Tyler and Quintin McCree have been suspended from the team indefinitely for a violation of team rules.

The suspensions are a blow to a Maryland squad that is coming off an exciting 32-24 win over the Miami Hurricanes on Labor Day evening. In that Miami game, Tyler has six catches for 43 yards and a TD. McCree chipped in with seven catches for 39 yards.

There is no doubt that the losses will hurt Randy Edsell's depth, but there is still some talent left for WVU and beyond.

Kevin Dorsey ( 8 catches for 124 yds. against UM ) and Kerry Boykins ( 2 for 40 ) can play. Also, don't be surprised to see Tony Logan be more involved as a receiver.

A win over West Virginia will probably catapult Maryland into next week's Top 25.

It's too bad Tyler and McCree won't be part of the fun.
