Trees Felled By Irene Now Mulch For Baltimoreans

BALTIMORE (AP) -- Baltimore parks officials say city residents can pick up free mulch made from trees and limbs knocked down by Hurricane Irene.

Baltimore's Department of Recreation and Parks says the mulch will be given away at nine locations beginning Saturday. City officials say there is no limit on how much can be taken for residential use, but commercial vehicles are not allowed to pick up the mulch and residents have to bring their own boxes or bags. The nine sites will be open seven days a week from dawn to dusk until the supply is exhausted.
