Former Md. Lawmaker Released From Prison

HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) -- A former Maryland state delegate has been released from prison after serving almost three years for possessing child pornography.

Robert McKee was sentenced to 37 months in prison in November 2008. The Republican lawmaker represented Washington County in the Maryland General Assembly from 1995 to 2008. He resigned his seat amid an investigation into whether he had possessed child pornography.

The Herald-Mail of Hagerstown reports that McKee was released Friday after serving approximately 32 months at a prison in New Jersey. McKee, who began serving his sentence in January 2009, was released early as a result of "good time" credit, which inmates earn if they behave in prison.

Before his arrest McKee was executive director of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Washington County.
