5 Bids Received For 2 Slots Locations

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- State officials say five bids have been received for casinos in Baltimore and the Rocky Gap Lodge and Resort.

Two developers submitted bids for Baltimore and three for Rocky Gap in Allegany County.

The Daily Record of Baltimore reports that Caesars Entertainment Corp. is seeking approval for a casino in Baltimore with 3,750 terminals.

Nathan Landow, former head of the Maryland Democratic Party, proposed a 500-machine venue at Rocky Gap. A partnership between Allegany Entertainment Group and Potts Gaming LLC proposed 200 machines there, and Evitts Resort LLC is seeking 850 machines.

The state got only one bid for the Baltimore location in 2009, but it was rejected months later. Twice, the state asked for bids for Rocky Gap, but got no proposals.
