STEVENSVILLE, Md. (AP) — This weekend’s NASCAR races in Dover, Del. are expected to boost traffic volume on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge.

The Maryland Transportation Authority says motorists should expect heavier traffic through Sunday.

The authority says it will monitor traffic conditions and allow two-way traffic on the westbound span to help alleviate potential delays if weather permits.

Motorists are urged to travel during expected off-peak hours.

The best hours to travel this weekend are before 10 a.m. and after 10 p.m. on Friday, before 7 a.m. or after 5 p.m. on Saturday and before 11 a.m. or after 10 p.m. on Sunday.

Anybody who spends the time & $$ to go to Dover is an idiot. Long lines, overpriced food, parking, rudeness & filthy conditions are what awaits you. You will be lucky if you are home by 11pm if you live in Balto.

    1. Wheres common sense when you need it says:

No different then when the Baltimorons load up to go to the beach! Besides, its the drivers from Baltimore whom create the problems. Worst drivers in the country. Just remember, you can ALWAYS tell which side of a bridge is the best side by the direction you pay toll for. Example, FREE to go to the western shore but not to come east, FREE to go into Jersey but not to leave, costs less to go into NYC than it does to come out. So next time you want long lines, overpriced food, parking, rudeness and filthy conditions, go to Baltimore to the inner harbor, to an Orioles or Ravens game. Then come on here and talk about your complaints!
