O’Malley Knocks Christie On ‘Face The Nation’

WASHINGTON (AP) — Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley says New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie would bring “tremendous entertainment value” but little substance to the presidential race if he were to seek the Republican nomination.

O’Malley, chairman of the Democratic Governors Association, knocked Christie’s record in New Jersey in an appearance Sunday on CBS’ “Face the Nation.”

O’Malley says Christie has struggled to create jobs, pointing to New Jersey’s 9.4 percent unemployment rate. He also notes that New Jersey’s bond rating has been downgraded, and its schools have slipped in national rankings.

Appearing alongside O’Malley, Republican Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour said the Maryland governor’s comments indicate “how afraid the Democrats are of Chris Christie.”

The New Jersey governor has resisted becoming a candidate, but those close to him have said he is reconsidering his decision.

And O’Malley has done what? If you are illegal, he’s your best friend. If you are paying his salary, he could care less. Knocking someone else is like calling the kettle black for O’Malley.

  2. Owe'Malley says:

This coming from someone that continues to chase businesses from Maryland? Why is this a story?

Maryland has a cancer and he is right at the core.

  3. sheriff says:

Owe Malley needs to take a close look in the mirror @ the harm he has inflicted upon the middle & lower working class while his admin. wants to find money for anchor babies & illehals.

  4. willie says:

Owe Malley is a prick & a liar.

Who is responsible for the changes in NJ retiree supplemental insurance?

  8. KottaMan says:

O’TaxMe is hated here. He has a lot of kahunah’s criticizing NJ’s Governor who has EXCELLED in many ways compared to the “Teflon Leprechaun” we have here. O’TaxMe is presiding over the destruction of Maryland. Marty, it is NOT “One Maryland” as you either stupidly and arrogantly believe or as you want us to believe.

  9. Maggie says:

O’Malley is a typical liberal Democrat. They can’t come up with anything nice to say about Republican’s. When they feel threatened they retreat and complain. What has he done for MD? ABSOLUTELY nothing good.

  10. Liz says:

O’Malley wants our education and jobs going to illegals, he should be forced to resign!! He has done nothing for the State of Maryland to help the taxpayers

  11. TJN72 says:

And this CLOWN would know what a joke is

  12. RIGHT says:

Quess who elected this clown? The non workers of maryland.
It s time to let your house go and move to another state. That is the only option because the working man or woman is the minority

  13. Maggie says:

I moved to GA three years ago and would love nothing more then to move back to MD but not under O’Malley’s administration. Property taxes are much lower especially for senior citizens and our utilities are unbelievability cheaper. We’re about to get a rebate because the power company made a surplus last year. It pays to have a co-op utility company.

  14. Larry26 says:

O’Malley should talk as his rating as governor according to the Cato Institute in Washington, is #49 because of the excessive taxes and poor leadership. Christie would knock O’Malley out in a debate. O’Malley lost it when he decided to make the people of Maryland pay for illegals to have free instate tuition.

  15. Debbie says:

O’Malley should take a look at himself. Other than high poliitical aspirations there isn’t much positive to say about the job he is doing as governor. When he isn’t busy raising taxes on something he is busy handing out hard earned taxpayers money to non-workers and illegals in an effort to secure votes that he certainly couldn’t get from the tax-payinbg citizens. No room for him to say anything about anyone else. In state tuition for illegals will be a huge issiue in the elections and hopefully will eliminate him from leadership.

  16. SMC says:

I agree with everything folks have said about O’MALLEY. Hatred is an understatement in my view. I despise this man and he should be removed. He has a lot of nerve bashing a political leader when he himself is the worse thing that has ever happened to the state of Md. He is soft on public safety and has lied about taxes of all kinds as well as jobs. He doesn’t give a rats ass about the middle class.

  17. Barbara Jean says:

O’Malley is trying to attack early. He knows that he will be running for president in 2016, as will Governor Christie. If not, he’ll take Barb’s seat in the Senate and run for president in 2020, still likely against Christie. It’s always been and will always be about stroking Marty’s ego and what’s best for him- not the people.

  18. RavenLude says:

of course a crook like owemalley would attack Christie. i dont live in NJ and have had limited exposure to Christie but from what ive seen, Christie speaks his mind, doesnt blow smoke, and appears genuine and honest and has the people’s best interest in mind (not fattening his own pockets and increasing his own power like our pathetic states governor does)

  19. Jerry says:

When the hell are people gonna listen to the citizens of Maryland and get this 2 faced ******* out of office. That’s the only way business’s will come back to Maryland and get somebody into office who will get Maryland back to be a Proud State.
Another thing is he forgot where he came from and basically now he acts like he don’t give a damn about the middle and lower class.

  20. Jerry says:

I’m sorry but i’m getting tired of his double talking. I don’t like saying anything bad about people cause i was brought up to treat people like i would like to be treated.

  21. Marshall Hiepler says:

    .
Politicians! Like a scared group of juvenile boys that have just hit a baseball through the nations window, they are all pointing the finger at others, rather than accepting responsibility for the blame. And what does it really matter anyway? None of them can afford to pay for the damage they have caused.
Its time for US to be responsible adults, and to take the “bat” away; to prevent them from doing it again.
The bottom line is that government cannot continue to borrow to fund its spending. All others issues pale to this glaring reality. Sure, there is a lot of finger pointing, and “he said, she said”, but to solve the problem we need to address the biggest issue first.
Every child dreams the starry-eyed vision of hitting the ball out of the park, but it is the American public that feels the “pane” of being broke, and ultimately pays the bill, regardless of who is responsible.
We need players on plate that have the ability to “change the game”, not those who swing blindly at the ball. Any self-boasters that sport that “glazed and starry-eyed” approach to scoring on election day, need to be benched for the good of the team. Considering our current score (this late in the game) we cannot afford to cheer for “all talk and no action”.
Pulling out of this slump is going to require determination and sacrifice. Sometimes a boy needs to put aside his grand visions, and simply “bunt”. Cut government spending, period. After all, the only way to score in the game, is to get a player across the plate. All of the arm-waving and dirt-kicking is merely hype to cover the fact that we are losing. Time to “man-up” and play the game right.

  22. Steven Cville says:

O’Malley is a clown! Hay Martin lets see if you can look straight into a camera and talk at the same time? Your always looking left or right and never straight! That because you lie so much?

  23. tomcat says:

omalley is whats wrong with our nation. unfortunately it starts with another phony with a gift of gab, obama and his henchman they are all a cancer to our once proud nation. i am 75 years old and have never seen such a threat to our country as we are expierincing at this time. what a disgrace.
