Briefings Set For Hurricane Disaster Assistance

BALTIMORE (AP) -- State emergency management officials say briefings will be held for those eligible for federal disaster
assistance for areas affected by Hurricane Irene.

The emergency declaration was requested by Gov. Martin O'Malley before the hurricane hit in August. The declaration was approved for Baltimore City and all counties except Garrett.

Representatives from local governments and private nonprofit organizations are encouraged to attend the meetings, which will take place this month in Williamsport, Reisterstown and Marriottsville.
