Alleged Purse Snatcher Snared By Car Door Locks

HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) -- Authorities say a Hagerstown woman charged with purse snatching was caught by another woman who locked the suspect in her car.

The Herald-Mail of Hagerstown reports that Teresa Lynn Conway, 42, was arrested on robbery and assault charges Friday.

A court document says that police arriving at the scene found Conway in the back seat of the car. The driver told police she was leaving a Hagerstown courthouse when she heard Conway yelling in an alley.

The driver told authorities she believed Conway was either a crime suspect or a victim, so she told her to get in the car and then activated child safety locks, trapping her.

The victim of the purse snatching said Conway pretended to have a gun when she demanded the woman's purse.
