Italy's Art Open To Public At D.C.'s Italian Embassy

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Artists from each of Italy's 20 regions are being featured in a new exhibit at the Italian Embassy in Washington.

The "Regions of Italy" exhibit opening Wednesday is displayed every 50 years in Rome since 1861 to celebrate Italy's reunification. This is the first time the show will travel to the United States. The event marks the 150th anniversary of Italy's unification.

Organizers say the exhibition highlights 150 years of artists and achievements. It includes masterpieces by artists including Giovanni Fattori, Giacomo Favretto, Costantino Nivola, Giorgio Morandi and others.

The exhibit will be open to the public weekdays at the Embassy of Italy from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
