City Council Challenger Running As Write-In

BALTIMORE (AP) -- The campaign for District 13 City Council challenger Shannon Sneed says the Democrat plans to kick off her write-in campaign next week.

Sneed lost the Democratic primary last month to incumbent Warren Branch by just 43 votes. The 30-year-old had initially posted a message congratulating Branch on the primary victory on her campaign website, but now will host a campaign kickoff Tuesday night in Baltimore.

Branch tells The Baltimore Sun that he will campaign hard to keep the seat.

Sneed's campaign says Antonio Glover, another candidate from the Democratic primary, will be supporting Sneed's write-in campaign.

Sneed is a former employee of WJZ.
