BLOG: The Ravens Will Get Even Better

The Baltimore Ravens have reached their bye with a 3-1 record. That is good enough for first place in the AFC North. Obviously, that's not a bad place to be.

The scary thing--for the rest of the division--is that they are going to get better.

The Ravens have had their share of injuries with important players like Ben Grubbs, Jimmy Smith, Lee Evans and Chris Carr all missing games.

QB Joe Flacco has yet to play back-to-back quality games as he has struggled with new receivers and accuracy.

Coach John Harbaugh and his staff have also had to deal with an influx of youth at certain positions and are dealing with the inconsistencies that go along with it.

Despite these issues, Baltimore is looking good.

The injured players will be returning soon enough. Flacco will improve upon his 49% competion rate. The youngsters are gaining valuable game experience and will be ready to really perform come playoff time.

At least we hope they will.

This team is going to get stronger and more powerful as the season moves forward.

2011 has the potential to be a very special football year here in Baltimore.

It will be exciting to watch.
