BALTIMORE (WJZ) — Olympic superstar and Baltimore native Michael Phelps is making a big splash with his latest project.

Kai Jackson has more on how you can compete against Phelps.

All you need is a gaming system and a monitor to view it on and you’re competing against the fastest swimmer in the world.

He’s set records across the globe for swimming. Michael Phelps is an Olympic gold medalist but now he’s competing in the world of video games.

“Being able to come up with this game, this interactive, realistic game,” Phelps said.

It’s called Michael Phelps: Push the Limit. It’s an interactive experience that lets players go head-to-head with Baltimore’s swimming phenom.

The announcement of the game came earlier this year and now it’s been released.

“I think it’s great,” said Gabi Zubris.

“I think it’d be a cool game. It’s different,” said Kyle Roberts.

A Canton Game Stop didn’t have Phelps’ game in stock. Those with the company say product placement is a corporate decision.

This latest venture allows Phelps to market himself in uncharted waters and adds to an already impressive and lucrative endorsement portfolio.

The game was released Tuesday.
