Teenager Fatally Shot In Hillcrest Heights Area

TEMPLE HILLS, Md. (AP) -- Prince George's County police are investigating the fatal shooting of a teenager in the Hillcrest Heights area.

Police say they were called to the 2100-block of Iverson Street about 7:20 p.m. Monday for the report of a shooting. Authorities say they found a 17-year-old boy suffering from a gunshot wound near the steps to apartment building. The teenager was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after he arrived.

The scene of the shooting is in an area in which many of the county's homicides have occurred this year.
