OAKLAND, Md. (AP) — An annual rite of fall returns to Garrett County as the Autumn Glory festival opens for a five-day run.
The festival begins Wednesday with a farmers market and craft show in Oakland.
Other events include an Oktoberfest dinner and concert Thursday and the Maryland State Banjo Championship Friday.
Saturday features a parade in downtown Oakland and the state fiddle championship.
But the real highlight is the fall foliage. The county offers maps with recommended driving routes for viewing the autumn colors.
