Frederick Vows To Complete Carroll Creek Park

FREDERICK, Md. (AP) --Frederick officials have agreed to dip into year-end balances to complete the Carroll Creek Linear Park.

The Frederick News-Post reports city officials agreed on the move during a workshop discussion Wednesday, but are waiting for solid cost estimates before taking official action.

The 2008 cost estimate to finish the park was about $10 million.

The entire park would run from Carroll Street to Highland Street. The first phase was finished in 2006.

Aldermen are trying to use all of a $3 million state matching grant toward the project. To take advantage of the grant, the city must put that much money toward the project by June. So far it has come up with $1.95 million.
