I think this trade was one of the worst trades I have seen in a long time. Not to say Palmer can’t be a good player, but to give up a first and a second round pick to get him is absurd. If the Raiders reach the AFC championship game they will have to give up 2 first rounders. This shows why the Raiders are a horrible organization.

To be competitive in this league you need cheap young talent that you can hold the rights to for many years. With a rookie salary cap in place, teams are now afforded the opportunity to get cheap talent. Carson Palmer is 32 and hasn’t looked like the Carson Palmer of old since the knee injury.

I’m not hating on the Raiders, but I want to see them back at the top of the league. I believe the NFL would be a better league if everyone had the bad guys to root against.
