Well everyone, my time in Baghdad has come near its end. We are re-deploying home soon and I couldn’t be more excited. Our mission here is complete and we will be headed back to the Charm City very shortly. As I look back on our time here, it seems on one hand, it took forever to get here … on the other hand, it seems to have gone by rather quickly. Either way, I am proud to be returning all of Maryland’s Soldiers back home safe and in one piece. I am also proud of the work they did and how they represented not only themselves, but their unit, their state and their country! They all have plenty to be proud!!
As I pack up my things and get ready to head home, I can’t forget all of you who took time out to write me, call me, Facebook me, and just stay in touch. While I rarely EVER struggle to find words, it’s really hard for me to communicate what it means to me to hear from you all! It made me feel normal … connected to the world and part of everyday life. I hope you all know the gratitude I feel for it and know that you all had an integral part in my success here!
I am equally excited for the next chapter in my life. I am excited and re-focused on my radio/tv career. Being out of it for so long, only makes me want to be back on the air even more. I am hoping some great opportunities come my way and that we can have a whole lot of fun in Baltimore on the radio!
Thank you again for everything. Thank you all for keeping up with this blog and all the well wishes. I hope to be able to shake all of your hands in person and say thank you! I will be having a little welcome home soiree in Baltimore when I get back and if you are in the area, please stop by! Stay tuned for details.
Enjoy the final video that we made! It is a highlight reel of the work we did … plus a little surprise at the end! Enjoy!
