Huguely's Lawyers Seek Love's Medical Records

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (AP) -- Lawyers for a former University of Virginia lacrosse player facing murder charges in the death of a member of the women's team are seeking access to her medical records.

The motion was filed by attorneys for George Huguely last week in Charlottesville Circuit Court. The 24-year-old is accused of entering Yeardley Love's apartment in May of 2010 and slamming her head into a wall. Authorities said Love, of Cockeysville, Md., died of trauma to the head. The two had dated.

Huguely's attorneys contend Love died from an irregular heartbeat caused partially from taking prescription Adderall and drinking alcohol. Last December, a judge sealed Love's medical records except for information about Love's prescription for Adderall.

A hearing is scheduled for Wednesday. Huguely's trial is scheduled to begin in February.
