Testimony Continues In Yoga Shop Killing Case
ROCKVILLE, Md. (AP) -- A detective who interviewed a woman charged with killing a co-worker at a Maryland yoga clothing shop has taken the stand.
Detective Deana Mackie testified Thursday at the murder trial of Brittany Norwood.
Norwood is accused of killing Jayna Murray, a co-worker at the Lululemon Athletica shop in Bethesda, on the night of March 11.
Mackie interviewed Norwood at a hospital the morning after Murray was killed. She said she considered Norwood a victim at the time because she told police that the women had been attacked by a pair of men who entered the store.
Jurors heard a recording of that interview Thursday in Montgomery County Circuit Court.
Norwood's attorney says his client killed Murray but didn't plan it, and shouldn't be convicted of first-degree murder.
