Detective Testifies In Yoga Shop Killing Case

ROCKVILLE, Md. (AP) -- A police detective has testified in the trial of a woman charged with killing a co-worker at a high-end yoga clothing shop.

Montgomery County police Detective Jim Drewry interviewed Brittany Norwood several times in the days after her co-worker Jayna Murray was found dead inside the Lululemon Athletica shop in Bethesda. He says he initially considered Norwood a victim based on her account that two men had attacked her and Murray. But she became a suspect as her story unraveled.

The jury also heard from Murray's mother and saw video of Norwood being interviewed by detectives.

Norwood's lawyer has conceded to jurors that his client killed Murray during a fight but said it wasn't premeditated.

The trial is drawing to a close. Prosecutors are likely to rest their case Wednesday.
