Ken Weinman: Good News, Bad News
Whenever you are a fan of a team like the Baltimore Orioles, you know that all good news has to come sprinkled with a little bad. First the good news.
Nick Markakis and Matt Wieters each won their first gold gloves last night. Markakis is a little bit of a surprise to me but then I heard that they changed the rules. So, instead of giving the gold gloves to three outfielders like they used to, they actually gave gold gloves to left, right, and centerfielders. This prevented the usual three centerfielders from winning.
Earlier in the day came the bad news. Tony LaCava, the Toronto Blue Jays asst. GM, decided to stay in Toronto and turn down the Orioles offer to become their GM. Seems guys would still rather not work for Peter Angelos...allegedly. Back to the drawing board.
