Md. Murder Suspect Arrives In State From N.C.

ROCKVILLE, Md. (AP) -- A man accused of killing his estranged wife and suspected in slaying his stepson has arrived in Maryland from North Carolina to face charges.

Montgomery County, Md. police say 45-year-old Curtis Lopez, who was released from the jail in Charlotte early Wednesday, arrived in Rockville about 1:50 p.m. Wednesday.

Jane McQuain, 51, and her 11-year-old son, William McQuain, were found in separate locations in Montgomery County last month.

Lopez had waived his right to a hearing to fight extradition to Maryland.

Lopez is charged with the first-degree murder of Jane McQuain, who was found in her condominium in Germantown, Md., about 30 miles northwest of Washington. The boy's remains were found in a wooded area of the county.
