Hood College Opens New Athletic Center

FREDERICK, Md. (AP) -- Hood College in Frederick has opened a $10 million athletic center.

The Frederick News-Post reports the college dedicated the new facility Friday. The 41,000-square-foot
center includes an arena that can seat 1,600 as well as a fitness center, coaching offices and a training room.

The building replaces Gambrill Gymnasium, which has served as the college's main athletic facility since 1949.

Hood College enrolls about 2,500 students doing both undergraduate and graduate work.
