Bowie Police Seek 2 Suspects In Girl Scout Theft
BOWIE, Md. (AP) -- Police in Bowie are searching for two men suspected of stealing money from Girl Scouts who were selling cookies at a Wal-Mart store last month.
Police say a man approached the scouts on Oct. 28 and asked how much the cookies cost. Then the suspect grabbed the scouts' cash box and fled. A witness chased the man but stopped when another man told her he would catch the thief.
Bowie police say surveillance video from Wal-Mart appears to show the two men together. The suspects got away with $200 from the scouts.
Girl Scout Leah Sawyer has a message for the thieves: "Give us back the Girl Scout money."
A police spokesman said Tuesday that investigators are still on the lookout for the two suspects.
