Metro Closes 3 Stations For Weekend Track Work

ARLINGTON, Va. (AP) -- Metro has stopped train service this weekend on the blue and yellow lines for maintenance at three stations in northern Virginia.

The stations at Crystal City, Reagan National Airport and Braddock Road all closed Friday night and won't reopen until the Monday morning commute.

Metro is offering shuttle bus service this weekend to National Airport from Metro Center in Washington and from King Street, Crystal City and Pentagon City in Virginia. Metro is also offering a local shuttle bus route between Pentagon City and King Street that won't stop at the airport.

On the red line, trains are single tracking and delayed downtown.

Metro says the closures are necessary for critical rebuilding work. The transit agency says it will offer normal service throughout the busy Thanksgiving week beginning Monday.
