Man Convicted Of Child Abduction

WESTMINSTER, Md. (AP) -- A Sykesville man has been convicted of assault and child abduction after he fled in a car with his girlfriend's son.

A Carroll County Court judge convicted Michael Andrew Terrell, 31, on Monday. Sentencing is set for Dec. 15.

According to a statement of facts cited by the Carroll County Times, Terrell and his girlfriend were arguing on July 4 when the girlfriend fled with her daughter to a neighbor's home. Terrell coaxed his girlfriend's 8-year-old son into his car and drove off with the boy.

Terrell dropped the boy off at a nursing home and fled. He was arrested six days later.
