BALTIMORE (WJZ)— On Saturday night, Hampden will transform into a spectacular Christmas spectacle.

Each year, 34th Street homeowners invite visitors to its annual Christmas light display. The elaborate outdoor décor often includes musical train gardens, blinking angels and inflatable snow globes. And at Saturday’s kickoff event at 5:45 p.m., Santa will be there too.

The lights will be turned on at 6 p.m.

If you can’t make it out on Saturday, no need to worry. The lights will be on every night from Thanksgiving weekend to January 1, including all night on Christmas Eve.

BGE loves this stupid display of excessive materialism & consumer goofiness during these tough economic times. Where the f…….k is the restraint & compassion for those that can’t afford or who have lost all of their incomes & the homelessness?

how does this Baltimore tradition have anything to do with compassion for those who have fallen upon hard times? if anything it raises the spirits of those who cant afford to do it themselves but can come and help celebrate the holidays with the community. sounds like someone is bitter. relax and enjoy the holidays, im sure you can find something productive to do with your time.

Matt, You’re the one missing the point. Artifical “bling” does not make Xmas, it only serves the to run up the credit cards & stress those that don’t have it. A little hin sonny boy. Suicide @ the holidays is the highest of anytime in the year.
