BALTIMORE (WJZ) — Saving energy from electrical outlets on exterior walls in your home.

Mary Bubala reports cold air can seep into your home through these.

Energy experts say take off the cover plates and check the space around the outside of the box.

You can buy foam pads designed to fit underneath the cover plates to reduce the amount of cold air coming inside.

Need to be careful using these insulators. Make sure that you use ones that are UL approved and not flammable. If device sparks it has the possibility of catching the insulation on fire.
