Public Gets Chance To Name New Westminster Park

WESTMINSTER, Md. (AP) — Carroll County officials are giving the public a chance to name a new 32-acre park in Westminster.

The Carroll County Times reports that officials will take suggestions by email, mail of phone through Jan. 15. The submissions will be presented to the Recreation and Parks Advisory Board at its Feb. 22 meeting, and an official park name will be announced at the board’s March 28 meeting.

Jeff Degitz, county director of recreation and parks, says the new park is on Crest Lane. Degitz says the county purchased the property a couple of years ago in response to requests for additional athletic fields in the community.
