Ken Weinman: Tough Times In College Park
This doesn't look like its going to be a very good year for the two bread winning athletic programs at the University of Maryland. The football team just finished a 2-10 campaign under first year coach Randy Edsall. What's worse is they were 9-4 last year under Ralph Friedgen. Now rumors are that guys including QB Danny O' Brien are transferring.
The Men's Basketball team is also under a first year head coach. Mark Turgeon replaced Gary Williams who retired. I honestly think the basketball team is in good hands. They have recruits coming in and they knew they would be short handed this season but it doesn't make things any less frustrating to watch. What's more is there are people who want Edsall's head after only one season.
