Dunbar Beats Perryville 32-11 For Class 1A Title

BALTIMORE (AP) -- Charles Brown Jr. had a 25-yard touchdown run and Deontay McManus added another 29-yard scamper to lead Dunbar to its second consecutive Class 1A state championship Saturday with a 32-11 victory over Perryville at M&T Bank Stadium.

Dunbar (12-2) won its eighth state title overall and fifth in six years. Only Seneca Valley of Montgomery County has more state titles with 12. After trailing 11-8 at the half, the Poets scored 24 consecutive points and sacked Perryville quarterback Gabe Sherrod four times.

Perryville (13-1) was looking to become just the third team from Cecil County to win a state title, along with Elkton (2000) and Bohemia Manor (2002).
