ESSEX, Md. (AP) — A transgendered woman beaten in a McDonald’s has been charged with disorderly conduct after an argument with a police officer.

A video of the April beating went viral on the Internet, spurring efforts to strengthen anti-discrimination laws.

Chrissy Polis called police to her Essex home Saturday to report the theft of her purse, phone and $800. As an officer took down Polis’ account, police say she shouted obscenities.

Polis was charged with disorderly conduct. A trial is set for February.

  • really?

Yes, because when the police show up to help me and start taking down information, I always find it helpful to shout obscenities at them… eh…. something tells me that’s not the whole story.
