Missing Md. Woman’s Remains Found In Delaware

NEWARK, Del. (AP) — The remains of a Maryland woman who has been missing for three years from her Cecil County home have been found just across the state line in Delaware.

Maryland State Police say human remains found last weekend were identified Friday as 21-year-old Brittany Peart of Elkton, Md. An autopsy is being conducted to determine what caused Peart’s death.

Police say two hunters found the remains in a wooded area near Newark, Del., on Dec. 4.

Peart was last seen in July 2008 at the home she shared with her mother in Elkton. Her mother reported her missing to Maryland State Police in September 2008. Police agencies and the FBI have been searching for her since then.
