Roads Reopen After Sewage Spill In Frederick

FREDERICK, Md. (AP) -- Frederick County officials say roads have reopened following a raw sewage spill at the city's waste water treatment plant.

The city said early Monday that the spill has subsided and that the plant is operating on generator power. On Sunday evening, Gas House Pike was closed from Highland Street to Monocacy Boulevard.

County officials say citizens should avoid water contact downstream from the spill, located at Carroll Creek and the
Monocacy River on Gas House Pike.

Officials say the city's drinking water has not been affected by the spill.
